Sundarbans National Park is one of the last tiger reserves in Bengal. It covers about 10,000 kilometers in the Ganges delta. The park became a tiger reserve in 1973, a wildlife sanctuary in 1977 and a national park in 1984. UNESCO included it as a world heritage in 1987.

The name Sundarbans means a beautiful jungle in the Bengali language. It is also derived from Sundari trees found inside the park.

Geography of Sundarbans National Park

Sundarbans is located at South 24 in Aprgand District of Bengal. It lies at 30 Degree 24” – 30 Degree 28′ north longitude and 77 Degree 40′ – 77 Degree 44′ east latitude. The park has an altitude of 7.5 meters above sea level. It has 54 small islands on the boundaries of Ganga.

The park is also known as the largest mangrove forest in the world. Vegetation includes mangrove scrub, forests, wet and rich grassland. The region has fresh and saltwater rivers from the Ganges and saline water at Bengal Bay. Coastal evolution includes estuaries, beaches, swamps, tidal creeks, back dunes, levees and coastal dunes.

The park has also seven rivers that heads towards the sea. The tidal deposits form creeks and new islands. There are mudflats at the estuary where tidal current occurs. The mudflats interior part is the home for mangroves.

Plant Species at Sundarbans National Park

The 64 plant species can withstand different conditions of tidal effects. You can see Genwa’s flaming red leaves, Kanakara’s crab-like flowers and Khalsi’s yellow flowers. Common trees are Kankra, Goran, Genwa, Passur and Dhundal.

Fauna of Sundarbans National Park

The wildlife sanctuary is the home for tigers and wild animals. There are birds, aquatic animal and reptiles living in the park. About 30,000 deer and 400 royal Bengal tigers are spotted here. Bengal tigers are great swimmers in the saline waters. They are a fierce breed that would not hesitate to attack a human. Other mammals include the wild boar, fox, pangolin, chital, grey mangoes, and fishing cats. There are bullsharks and saltwater crocodiles living at the estuaries (area of the river mouth affecting sea tides).

The park is very suitable to bird-watching. Get the chance to see a blue-eared kingfisher, white ibis, water hens, open-billed storks and spotted doves. Aspian terns, common snipes, jungle crows, cotton teals, night herons, wood sandpipers, paradise flycatchers and seagulls are sighted in the Sundarbans.

The park also houses some of the fishes like butter fish, silver carp, sawfish, starfish, electric rays, gangetic dolphins and common carp. Amphibians inside the sanctuary are skipping frogs, tree frogs and common toads. You will be able to spot some reptiles like sea snakes, green turtles, chameleons, estuarine crocodile, king cobras, russels vipers and monitor lizards. Others include common kraits, rat snakes, pythons, mouse ghekos, hawks bill turtles and chequered killbacks.

Activities to Do in Sundarbans National Park

Village walks is a nice thing to do apart from exploring around the park. Visitors can visit the local school and have a cycle trip to the market. You could go crab-catching or on fishing expeditions around the village. You can take a bird walk, a cooking class and watch cultural programs at the rural theater.

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Our teeth are important in proper speech delivery, proper digestion and food appreciation. These are also important in maintaining good self-image. Often, many of us fail to take care of our dentition properly. With proper understanding of dental disease and by following good oral hygiene, dental caries, gum disease with its accompanying pain and bad breath can be prevented.

Dental decay is caused by the breakdown of sugar into acid by bacteria. The acid attacks the enamel creating a minute cavity. In time, the dental decay progresses further into the dentin and the pulp. The basic rule for preventing dental decay is through a healthy diet containing as little sugar as possible. Studies show that the Eskimos rarely had incidences of tooth decay until they switched to a high sugar Western style diet. Moreover, dental decay was not rampant among the European population during World War II because of the scarcity of sugar supplies. Evidently, sugar plays a major role in the incidence rate of dental caries. The love of sweet foods is not a very healthy habit but it can be reversed or controlled. It is always a good practice as parents to let your children know the disadvantages of having a sweet tooth and curbing the habit early in life, while they are still young, will prove beneficial. Be mindful of what your children eat and drink. Give them water instead of soft drinks. It is more thirst quenching and healthy without the added disadvantages of the excessive sugar that is commonly found in soft drinks. Raw vegetables, bread, fruit or nuts are better and healthier snack alternatives than candies and cookies that contain a lot of sugar.

Studies show that the amount of sugar that enters into the mouth is less important than the frequency of sugar ingestion. The saliva can repair small amounts of damage caused by the acid formed by the bacteria and sugar interaction in the mouth. However, if the teeth are constantly bathed in sugar, the saliva’s capacity to repair minor damage will become useless and the repair process will be halted. This is why ingestion of sugar in between meals is more damaging than when taken during mealtimes. Frequent sugar intake between meals will prolong the teeth’s exposure to sugar.

In order to minimize dental decay, proper dental care is necessary. Be sure to brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day although doing it after every meal is highly recommended. It is even advisable to brush and floss your teeth after eating snacks, since food taken during these times are often high in sugar and starch like pastries and cakes. Always keep a travel toothbrush handy. Proper tooth brushing techniques, the use of dental floss and mouthwashes can remove plaque build-up. Plaque is a sticky thin film containing bacteria, food particles and saliva. When this sticky film is left on the tooth’s surface, over time there will be a bacterial breakdown of sugar into acid that will jeopardize the enamel’s integrity and starts dental caries.

A regular visit to the dentist is necessary in order to maintain and preserve your oral health. Always take care of your teeth and maintain that beautiful smile till you grow old.

Teeth Whitening has a growing demand in all parts of the world. After all it’s all about making a first impression last forever with your beautiful smile. But many people are still suspicious of whether they should go for teeth whitening or not and the risks associated with it. If you have decided to make your appearance more pleasing and charming then you have come to the right place! Here you will learn some facts about teeth whitening and how important it is in today’s fast growing world.

Teeth Whitening is a procedure to whiten teeth by applying a solution of hydrogen peroxide to the outside surface of teeth. Hydrogen peroxide is also known as bleach. Now you know the secret behind ‘whitening‘. Most people have their teeth whitened for a brighter smile. In order to have it done, you need to have perfectly healthy teeth and gums. You should also be aware that having hydrogen peroxide for longer periods in your mouth can do damage to your teeth. In addition to this, sensitive teeth may experience some side-effects after the treatment, but that can be cured.

If you have whiter teeth and a confident smile, you definitely will leave a lasting impression on your employers. Same goes for any other field of life. Whether you’re a working individual, social worker, educator, government employer or a home-maker, you do want to have an outward appearance everybody loves and admires. If you spend a lot of money on your clothes and cosmetics just to look good, and you do have everything else in good proportions, but you have a bad smile due to yellow teeth all that effort of looking good will go to waste. So don’t fall behind, step up and look the world in the eye. Improve your smile by going for teeth whitening and make your life better and happier!

Other than traditional whitening method, there is new laser whitening or power whitening being introduced. The chemical is activated by projecting a laser beam onto it and the teeth whitening can be achieved much quicker. The actual procedure lasts only for about an hour and after that you will have to take care of your teeth yourself. The effects of this whitening can last up to three years. Sensitive teeth can experience some side effects of whitening but these may be cured by using toothpastes specially made for sensitive gums and other medicines. Teeth Whitening only works on natural teeth.

A great smile can prove to be a valuable asset, particularly when you first meet someone. However, people who have brown or yellow stained teeth are very conscious of this shortcoming. It may also cause social insecurity. One of the best treatment methods available to gain back that white perfect smile is teeth whitening. The basic methodology of teeth whitening is that it reverses the process of discoloration of teeth, bleaching them to reveal the white enamel again.

Teeth generally darken over a period of time. This may be due to consumption of caffeine-containing drinks (like tea, coffee and cola) or tobacco products. Also, excessive fluoride production and use of antibiotic medication can also lead to teeth discoloration. However, the biggest factor contributing to the loss of whiteness is age. Teeth whitening, to counter the process of discoloration, is one of the safest and the most popular procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Studies indicate that almost 96% of the people who undergo this treatment experience visible benefits.

There are three options available to those considering this procedure – you can either undergo professional bleaching, try home bleaching or use whitening toothpastes. Of the three listed, the quickest and the most effective is professional bleaching. It is also referred to as In-Office or Chair-side bleaching. It usually requires two or more visits to a dentist. However, the effects are much long lasting than any other procedure. The dentist will apply a bleaching agent to your teeth. The gums, however, are not harmed. The most common mouth guard is a gel or rubber shield. After the dentist has carefully applied the bleaching agent to your teeth, he might want to use additional heat or light procedures to make the agent work faster. A usual treatment sitting might last from 30 minutes to an hour.

The second option that is available to you is that of home bleaching. You can buy a kit from any certified pharmacist or dentist. This kit would usually contain a hydrogen peroxide based bleaching gel or solution. This is meant to be applied to the tooth enamel. As a rule, a mouth guard is also included in the kit. You are supposed to place the solution or gel in the mouth guard and then follow the directions given with the equipment. The frequency of use and the duration of treatment for home bleaching vary. Overnight treatments work for a much shorter period. However, if you are, say, required to use the kit twice a day, the treatment might be effective for a longer period of time.

Whitening toothpastes work in a different way from bleaching techniques because they do not aim towards a permanent alteration of teeth color. They usually contain polishing agents. They work to remove some of the deeper stains, which a regular toothpaste might not effectively dislodge. You should always consult your dentist before going forth with any of these procedures – he is the best person to guide you and can advise you on the most effective treatment plan suited to your needs.

Siva Sankara Vara Prasad. Konidela, better known as Chiranjeevi, born 22nd August 1955, at Narasapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the four top players, and the first unofficial Telugu actor. His father Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi, mother. It is often referred to as "Megastar". He has two brothers. Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan. Nagendra Babu is a film producer, while Pawan Kalyan is also a famous actor.

Chiranjeevi entrythe film industry with the film Pranam Khareedu in 1978. After this film was very low and negative characters in films such as Mosagadu, 49 Rojulu, Manavoori Pandavulu. He "went well until the turning point came with the film Khiladi. The film Khiladi, which was published in 1983 in terms of Kodandarami Reddy, is a great success. She gave him the impetus to stay on top with a few older players such time. With films like (1983) Abhilasha, Challenge (1984), PasivadiPranam (1987), Atthaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu (1989), and was able to create a proper name in the film industry. The sequence was in the 90s with movies like Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990), Kodama simham continued (1990), a gang leader (1991), Rowdy Alludu (1991), and Gharani Mogudu (1992). How has each actor, but also experienced some major disasters at the box office, as a mechanic Alludu (1993), SPParshuram (1994), Big Boss (1995), and Rikshavodu (1995).

These failuresmade him very careful about choosing a story, banner, director, etc., and took considerable time to what has gone seriously wrong sizing. In 1997 with the film "Master," began its triumphal march through the success story continues with the film as Choodalani Vundo (1998), Bavagaru Bagunnara (1998), and Sneham Kosam (1999). Later in 2002 Chiranjeevi had one more release, Indra. The film was a huge success and the film was on the extrapolation of this year. Won both the award and NandiFilmfare Best Actor for the film Indra. Later, in 2003, came with another block buster "Tagore". E "was released, the extrapolation of the biggest film this year. His long-awaited" Anji "in 2004, but can not report success, despite the high expectations. But with the film scored Shankardada MBBS, a great success. According to this film was once again disappointed by the results of such films as Andarivadu and Jai Chiranjeevi. She also appeared in the role of host-film directing styleby Raghava Lawrence. However, with the film Stalin he bounced on the runway. His current film Shankardada Zindabad is located on the plateau, which is a continuation of his previous successes Shankardada MBBS.

Chiranjeevi in October 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT). This trust includes Chiranjeevi Eye Bank and blood banks. It is the largest blood bank and look at the state of Andhra Pradesh. Until now, the blood bank over 80,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped more than 1,000 people helped. This trust has the awards "Best Voluntary Blood Bank" by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the last 4 years. In 2006 he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation (CCF), which was inaugurated by the Indian President Dr. Abdul Kalam. In 2006 he received Chiranjeevi Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India, the President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam. Later, in November 2006, Chiranjeevi received the doctorate from Andhra University for his work and socialfor his contribution to the film industry.

Coming soon This Chiranjeevi's son Ramcharan Teja film are out, speculation is spread, Chiranjeevi leave the field of film and preparing to play an active role in charity and social services. So far Chiranjeevi has a lot to do in the field of Telugu cinema, as a great actor and for the people through his charitable foundation. Whatever your decision may be, we hope that good deeds to be done.

This is one of them so I bought it online – sight unseen, because it was titled “Preparing for Kindergarten”. However, I can only give it three positives:

1. Lots of choices – many games to choose

2. Colorful and fairly easy to navigate

3. Runs with the 64 bit graphics card.

That’s all the good things I can say.

This program is stated to be for ages 3-5. My daughter is nearly 4 so I figured it would be perfect for her. We sat down together with it last night. I expected to get her started on it and then let her run with it, as she does with the other two programs I’ve found that run on my computer. However, in the very first game we selected, the questions were written on the screen, not verbalized so I had to stay with her. This isn’t a problem – I love working with her on the computer and watching her learn new things. But I wondered who on earth creates a software program for children WHO CAN’T READ and expects them to READ the instructions on the screen?!

Secondly, there are no real instructions on most of the games. A handful of them have written (again!) or verbal instructions but many of them just open the screen and expect you to know what to do. Oh wait – expect a 3-5 year old to know what to do. Again, who designed this?

Finally, I am a FIRM BELIEVER in challenging a child. Our daughter knows things that many older kids are learning. We challenge her and encourage her and praise her for a job well done. I’m actually a little concerned that she might be bored when she actually gets to kindergarten. I’m not bragging here – honest, just stressing my point that children will learn what we teach them, when we encourage them to learn.

That said, this program for 3-5 year old children (I repeat the age to make a big point here) has multiplication and division on it (you know the things you learn in 3rd-4th grade range), difficult money games (early money is taught in 1st, I believe – this level of money in at least 2nd grade), word searches (again for children who CAN NOT YET READ!), Sudoku (can’t even begin to comment here), and equations and calculations (again, no real comment), along with several other completely age inappropriate games.

IF this program stated it was for ages 3-13 – OK, nice variety of programs; still very annoying to have written instructions or NO instructions, especially on the few games actually suited to ages 3-5, but at least I would feel it was properly classified.

If you’re looking for a program with a variety of games for your 5-10 year old child, this might be a good purchase for you. If you’re looking to help prepare your child for kindergarten, I recommend the “Flash Action Software” series. It’s a series of CD-ROM and workbook combinations that age with your child appropriately – AND they run with that infamous 64 bit graphic card previously discussed. No, I do not work for that company. I purchased the preschool one and recently added Phonics and Kindergarten for my daughter to use.

I post this review to help prevent another family from the frustrating scene with my daughter last night. She wanted to do more, and we had to keep switching games as I found more and more things that were inappropriate for her age level. If this review can help direct one family to another more age-appropriate program, than it’s been worth my time.

Preparing for Kindergarten covers all essentialsubjects and skills

Developed by educational experts of Weekly Reader Publishi. continue reading.
